Ideas for Christmas or New Year’s dinner party? Yes, please! I will be going to a pre- Christmas party this Saturday and this will be one of the dishes I will bring along. I am also making some delicious cheese pretzels and probably some gingerbread… Romanian parties are savage when it comes to the amount of food people bring and eat in 4 – 5 hours.
This appetizer, dipping sauce, spread, whatever you want to call it, is so easy to make! Requires literally 0 cooking skills and it looks pretty impressive.
You can use whatever combination of sweet ingredient (honey, agave syrup, maple syrup) and nuts or cured meats. I made something similar a while back: baked brie with prosciutto and raspberry preserve. Granted that time the brie was already baked, so I double-baked it.
The Holiday Spirit hasn’t really touched me yet, but I am going to buy a small potted tree tomorrow. If I’ ll still not feel festive after decorating it, I will just to have start cooking heavy pork dishes ( sarmale/ stuffed cabbage anyone? ) and bake cozonaci = panettone.
